What’s new in Scarlet Serve v2.3.0

SCARLET SERVE — CHANGELOG

VERSION 2.3.0
Release Date: September 29, 2026

ADDED
- Pressure Index: a 0–100 live game-state indicator using score leverage, late-set closeness, serve state and opponent scoring runs.
- Timeout Intelligence on the Coach's Clipboard and in Match Lab, with hold/consider/timeout-window reads.
- One-click Request timeout action when a useful timeout window is identified.
- Pressure and timeout reads in exported film reports.

CHANGED
- Timeout guidance remains advisory in manual play; Auto-coach keeps its existing automatic timeout behavior.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Existing season saves remain compatible. The new indicators are calculated from the live match and require no save migration.

VERSION 2.2.0
Release Date: September 29, 2026

ADDED
- Rotation Matchup Matrix: Match Lab now tracks all 36 Nebraska/opponent rotation pairings.
- Live current-pairing highlight plus best/watch reads after a four-point sample.
- Matchup observations in film-room notes.
- Full matchup matrix in exported film reports.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Existing season saves remain compatible. Matchup tracking begins with each newly loaded match.

VERSION 2.1.0
Release Date: September 29, 2026

ADDED
- Opponent Rotation Scouting in Match Lab. Every opponent rotation now tracks how often Nebraska scores while serving into it and how often Nebraska sides out against it.
- A Serve Target read identifies the opponent rotation that has yielded the most break points after a useful sample.
- Coach's Clipboard shows a live Scouting Alert when that target rotation reaches the service-receive side.
- Film report exports now include the complete opponent-rotation scouting matrix.

CHANGED
- Film-room notes can call out the opponent rotation currently offering the best serve-pressure opportunity.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Existing season saves remain compatible. Opponent-rotation scouting starts fresh with each match.

VERSION 2.0.0
Release Date: September 29, 2026

ADDED
- Match Lab: a new live film-room tab with side-out, serve-point, attack, serve-risk, block and dig indicators.
- Rotation efficiency table that identifies the strongest and weakest sufficiently sampled rotations.
- Nebraska vs opponent attack-distribution comparison for outside, middle, right side and back-row options.
- Film-room notes that flag developing side-out, serving, distribution and defensive tendencies while acknowledging small samples.
- Export Film Report creates a local text report with match KPIs, rotation results, tactical notes and recent Coach Review decisions.

CHANGED
- The center navigation now includes Match Lab during every match, including the final screen.
- Match analytics remain descriptive and do not change rally outcomes, AI calls or save compatibility.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Version 1.9 and earlier season saves continue to load. Match Lab is calculated from the current match and requires no save migration.

VERSION 1.9.0
Release Date: September 29, 2026

ADDED
- Coach Review for manual serve, set, block, challenge and rotation decisions.
- Live Assistant Coach alignment and recent-call history on the Coach's Clipboard.
- Post-match decision review with per-call-type alignment.
- Call staff pick button and C keyboard shortcut for the current recommendation.

CHANGED
- Assistant Coach recommendations now support one-click/one-key application while preserving fully manual control.
- Alignment is labeled as informational comparison, not a coaching grade.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Earlier saves and v1.8 preferences remain compatible.

VERSION 1.8.0
Release Date: September 28, 2026

ADDED
- Assistant Coach recommendations for serve, attack, block, video challenge and set-break rotation decisions.
- STAFF PICK highlighting plus a short explanation for each recommendation.
- Pregame starting-rotation suggestion based on the strongest available server.
- Header toggle to show or hide coaching recommendations without enabling Auto-coach.

CHANGED
- Player decisions now provide optional tactical context while remaining fully manual.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Earlier saves and v1.7 preferences remain compatible; Assistant Coach defaults on for existing players.

VERSION 1.7.0
Release Date: September 28, 2026

ADDED
- Live Coach's Clipboard analytics.
- Focus mode (F) for a court-first layout.
- Fullscreen control.
- High-contrast accessibility mode.

CHANGED
- Header controls and package capability metadata updated for the new view modes.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Earlier seasons and preferences remain compatible.

VERSION 1.6.0
Release Date: September 28, 2026

ADDED
- Serve chart: two more presses of S (or the Shots button) show where
every serve was played this match, marked ace, service error, or by the
pass it drew, for Nebraska and then the opponent. Players dim while a
chart is up, and the chart legend is easier to read.
- Highlights: each match keeps its 5 best rallies (long rallies, set and
match points, stuff blocks, aces). Watch them from the final screen with
H or the Highlights button, captioned with set, score and the call.
- Careers: season totals roll into career records every off-season. The
Season stats tab lists career leaders in kills, digs, assists, blocks
and aces, this season included.
- Hall of Fame: graduating seniors are inducted on 8 honour points or a
career mark, named in the log and kept on the Season stats tab.

FIXED
- Signing day could hang when a large board ran out of jersey numbers
1-30 (most likely with two portal departures and a big senior class).
Numbers now continue from 31.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Earlier seasons load and continue; careers start with the season in
progress.

VERSION 1.5.0
Release Date: September 27, 2026

ADDED
- Transfer portal. At signing day, underclassmen who sat behind the
starters may enter the portal (at most 2, one per position), freeing
their scholarships. Persuade one to stay if you want her back.
- 3 experienced transfers join the signing board each year: better now,
with fewer years left. The staff weighs them against the freshmen.
- Series records: the all-time record against every opponent, carried
through every season, in the match preview, the Match card and a new
table on the Season stats tab.
- Postseason tab: where Nebraska would be seeded if the season ended
today, the full eight-team Big Ten Tournament bracket, and the NCAA road
round by round with the national champion.
- Athletic director's goals: a win total and an NCAA round to reach, set
from the preseason poll, with a verdict at season's end (Hot seat, Solid
year or Contract extension) kept in the program history.

CHANGED
- Signing-day boards always offer at least one recruit at every position,
and as many as the roster is short.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Earlier seasons load and continue; series records are rebuilt from the
current season's results, and goals come from the current poll.

VERSION 1.4.0
Release Date: September 27, 2026

ADDED
- Game plan in the match preview: deny one hitter (block and defense
shade toward her; the rest find a little more room) and serve at one
passer. It starts on their best hitter and weakest passer.
- Game-plan grade on the final screen: how the denied hitter hit against
the rest of her team, and aces on the targeted passer.
- Instant replay (R): the last rally again at one-third speed, whenever
the ball is dead. Replays never change the game.
- Program record book: single-match, season and team marks, kept through
every season of a dynasty, with a log line when one falls.
- Opponent box stats are now kept per player.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Earlier seasons load and continue; the record book starts with the
first match played in 1.4.0.

VERSION 1.3.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

ADDED
- Dynasty: after the season, seniors graduate and signing day opens.
Pick a recruiting class from a board of freshmen (3 to 5 stars; a higher
final ranking brings better recruits), or let the staff pick.
- Later seasons replay the 2026 slate on a projected schedule, same
weekdays, home and away swapped in odd years.
- Returning players move up a class and keep half their practice gains.
- Program history: each season's record, finish, ranking and honours.
- Defensive system: Perimeter (strong against hard swings) or Rotational
(strong against tips and roll shots). Opponents now tip; the scouting
report shows how often.

CHANGED
- "New season" is now "Restart from 2026".

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Earlier seasons load and continue; the roster is saved with the season
from the first signing day on.

VERSION 1.2.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

ADDED
- Weekly practice plan: pick a focus (serving, serve receive and defense,
attacking and setting, blocking) and an intensity (light, normal, hard).
- Player development: practice raises ratings through the season, up to
+8 each; freshmen improve fastest, seniors slowest.
- Injuries and a medical log. Players can be hurt in matches or practice
and miss 1-5 matches; the lineup is rebuilt around them automatically.
- Shot chart on the court (S): where every kill and error landed.
- Opponents also improve a little as the season goes on.

CHANGED
- Season stats show current ratings with practice gains, and the medical log.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- v1.1.0 and v1.0.1 seasons load and continue; practice starts at
"Serve receive & defense, Normal".

VERSION 1.1.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

ADDED
- Starting rotation: choose it in the match preview and at every set break.
- Rotation report: side-out and serve-point rates by rotation, live in the
match and totalled for the season.
- Video challenges on close line calls: one per team per set, kept when
the call is overturned. Overturned calls also correct the box score.
- Weekly Top 25 poll (Big Ten tab); NCAA seeds now follow the poll.
- Season honours: All-Big Ten, Big Ten Player of the Year, AVCA All-American.
- Momentum chart of the point margin through each set.
- Sets played (SP) column in season stats.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- v1.0.1 seasons load and continue; the new poll, rotation totals and
sets-played counts start from the point of upgrade.

VERSION 1.0.1
Release Date: September 26, 2026

ADDED
- First Tronsoft Games portal package (Package Specification v1.6.2).
- Opponent strength setting: Freshman, Varsity, All-American.
- Pause (P), with automatic pause when the tab is hidden.
- Effects volume slider.
- Local fonts, seven sound-effect files, storefront artwork, manual.

CHANGED
- Rules, AI, sound and interface split into separate scripts; one rally
engine now drives both the game and its automated tests.
- The coaching panel keeps its height between decisions, so Bench buttons
no longer move under the pointer after a call.
- Court numbers and labels are drawn at screen resolution and stay sharp
at every zoom.

FIXED
- Sound cues reuse a fixed set of voices instead of creating a new media
player per hit.

SAVE COMPATIBILITY
- Saves now use keys tronsoft_scarlet_serve_save and _prefs. Seasons saved
by the single-file v1.0.0 build are not carried over.

KNOWN ISSUES
- Sound starts after the first click or key press (browser autoplay rules).

VERSION 1.0.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

ADDED
- Initial release as a single self-contained HTML file.
- The 2026 schedule, Big Ten standings, Big Ten Tournament and NCAA Tournament.
- Serve, set and block calls; rotations, libero, fatigue, substitutions, timeouts.
- Auto-coach, simulate set or match, speeds; pan and zoom court.
