B-17: QUEEN OF THE SKIES — CHANGELOG
Newest first. Every release is kept.

VERSION 1.24.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

FIRST AID REVIEW
Manual first-aid assignments now open a review before issuing orders. Inspect
the helper, patient, treatment location, gun availability and compartment
hazards. Redirecting a helper shows whose existing treatment will be canceled.

Treatment completes at the next zone upkeep only if the patient is still
seriously wounded and the helper remains able. The order ends even on failure.
Completed aid prevents the untreated-wound death check; it does not restore
the patient to duty or protect against combat damage. The review explains the
1-in-18 untreated-wound risk separately from overall survival.

Assign first aid uses the existing action; Keep current orders cancels without
changing saves, ammunition or random state. Auto-fly pauses during review.

COMPATIBILITY
Save format, storage keys and rules remain unchanged except VERSION.

VERSION 1.23.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

CREW TRANSFER REVIEW
Manual crew transfers now open a review before changing posts. Choose a new
station in the cruise crew controls to see the affected guns, their proposed
operators, readiness and hit chances. The review flags angles gaining coverage
or losing every positive-chance shot. Apply transfer saves the existing move;
Keep current posts cancels without changing orders.

Coverage uses a hypothetical undamaged, non-ace fighter at each angle under
current crew, sun and contrail conditions. It does not reveal future attackers
or predict kills. Previewing pauses auto-fly and consumes no rolls or ammunition.
Older saves without initialized crew-post fields remain supported.

COMPATIBILITY
Save format, storage keys and rules remain unchanged except VERSION.

VERSION 1.22.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

PRINTABLE TOUR REPORT
- Open Printable Tour Report from the Logbook to preview the whole tour.
- Download a self-contained HTML document for offline reading and printing.
- Include campaign totals, pilot progress, mission ledger, strike assessments,
group losses, citations, ace claims, crew notes and personnel service records.
- Include every completed mission regardless of archive filters.
- Distinguish no-drop sorties from zero-percent drops in accuracy averages.
- Identify unfinished missions and missing legacy assessments explicitly.
- Preserve archive filters and keyboard focus when returning to the Logbook.
- Report download failures visibly without modifying campaign saves.

LIMITS AND COMPATIBILITY
The report is a readable snapshot, not a restorable save backup. It has no
scripts, remote assets or network dependencies. Browser print layout remains
unverified in this environment. Saves and game rules are unchanged except VERSION.

VERSION 1.21.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

RESCUE OUTLOOK
- Open Rescue Outlook from the aircraft-loss emergency controls.
- Compare individual bailout and, when available, ditching outcome odds.
- Include wounds, oxygen deprivation, completed first aid and explosions.
- Account for radio condition, distance from England and ditching modifiers.
- Distinguish safe return, evasion, capture and loss over land.
- Show expected survivors and explain shared ditching impact/rescue rolls.
- Keep emergency decisions paused while reviewing; closing commits no action.

LIMITS AND COMPATIBILITY
Individual odds are not whole-crew survival probabilities. Ditching outcomes
are correlated through shared impact and rescue rolls. Expected survivors are
averages, not guarantees. Existing saves and rules are unchanged except VERSION.

VERSION 1.20.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

TARGET DOSSIER
- Open Target Dossier in the briefing or its map-side controls.
- Inspect current target damage, repairs and recorded strike count.
- Review earlier sorties against the same target, including diverted and
no-drop missions; distinguish missing legacy damage assessments.
- Adjust assumed group accuracy and compare each available bomb load's
resulting target damage and projected arrival fuel reserve.
- Show date-dependent load availability, unsafe fuel reserves and load notes.
- Preview cards without changing the selected load; Apply uses the existing
load action and saves the choice. Keep current load cancels the preview.

LIMITS AND COMPATIBILITY
The accuracy setting is a what-if assumption, not a forecast. Group accuracy
is distinct from the player's accuracy. Opportunity targets do not damage the
assigned target. Fuel forecasts hold current damage constant. Existing saves,
storage keys and rules remain compatible; rules change only VERSION.

VERSION 1.19.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

DAMAGE CONTROL
- Review active fires and oil leaks from the cruise controls.
- Show each fire's next-departure extinction, persistence and catastrophe or
spreading probabilities; combine direct catastrophic fire risks.
- Track oil-leak deadlines, ongoing fuel loss and damaged transfer valves.
- Preview emergency dives: one 50% roll for all engine and wing-tank fires,
formation loss, unchanged internal fires and remaining tank drainage.
- The existing Dive control now opens this review before committing the order.
- Execute dive uses the existing action; Return to flight preserves orders.
- Pause auto-fly while reviewing and restore scheduling on close.

LIMITS AND COMPATIBILITY
Departure estimates hold current damage constant and exclude future attacks
and other causes of aircraft loss. Fire probabilities are not overall survival
odds. Existing saves, storage keys and rules remain unchanged; rules source
changes only its VERSION constant.

VERSION 1.18.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

THREAT BOARD AND FOCUSED FIRE
- Open Threat Board during defensive combat to compare active attackers.
- Rank by expected incoming hits and show the chance of at least one hit.
- Include aircraft type, difficulty, damage, ace status, attack angle,
straggling and formation drive-off in the incoming-fire calculation.
- Handle stand-off rockets separately, including their formation bypass.
- Inspect a fighter's zero/one/two/three-hit distribution and usable guns.
- Preview concentrating every usable positive-chance gun on one target.
- Show current assignments, per-gun odds/ammunition, coverage changes and
other fighters that would lose coverage before applying the orders.
- Cancel leaves orders intact; apply assigns guns without firing or using ammo.
- Pause auto-fly while inspecting; restore its normal scheduling on close.

LIMITS AND COMPATIBILITY
Threat estimates assume an attacker survives your gunfire unchanged. Knock-on
changes from other attackers are not modeled. Expected hits are not survival
odds. Existing save format, keys and combat rules remain unchanged; the rules
source differs from v1.17.0 only in the version constant.

VERSION 1.17.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

FLIGHT RECORDER AND LIVE LOG READING
- Pause the live feed by scrolling up or unchecking Follow latest.
- Keep the visible feed still while gameplay continues, count new entries,
and use Jump to latest to resume following with keyboard focus restored.
- Open Flight Recorder to search retained entries by text, mission and event type.
- Include base entries, current/numbered missions and legacy unassigned events.
- Filter damage/critical events together or select individual event types.
- Sort oldest/newest, browse pages of 50 and export all matches as plain text.
- Keep filters and page selection across reopening within the same campaign.
- Recorder pauses auto-fly while open; pausing only the live feed does not.
- Explain retention: the live feed shows up to 160 entries, while the rules
normally retain the latest 600. Completed summaries remain in the Logbook.

COMPATIBILITY
No changes to log storage, combat/campaign rules, save format or storage keys.
Rules source differs from v1.16.0 only in its version constant. Feed/Recorder
view settings are session-only and do not alter saved campaign progress.

VERSION 1.16.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

AUTO-FLY CHECKPOINTS
- Configure optional stops before target approach and landing, after combat or
bombing reports, and at every cruise decision.
- Key decisions (the default) stops before target approach and landing.
- Every checkpoint enables all optional stops; Classic auto-fly disables them.
- Resume auto-fly releases only the current optional stop, schedules normal
automatic play and returns keyboard focus to the auto-fly control.
- Required pauses for hazards, manual gunnery, cloud choices, German turns and
emergencies retain priority. Resume cannot bypass them.
- Settings persist in browser preferences and are shared across save slots.
- Checkpoint settings pause auto-fly while open. Reviewing or changing settings
never advances the mission or changes the campaign save.
- Resume acknowledgement is temporary; reload checks the current position again.

COMPATIBILITY
Existing campaign saves and storage keys are unchanged. Older preferences gain
the default target/landing stops; use Classic to restore the earlier behavior.
The rules source differs from v1.15.0 only in the version constant.

VERSION 1.15.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

CREW ROOM
- Open Crew Room from the crew information card during a tour.
- Search names, roles and decorations across all personnel, including reserves,
men in hospital or at the rest home, and former or missing crew.
- Combine assignment and role filters; sort by name, strain, missions or claims.
- Open service records with experience, wounds, strain, recovery duration,
decorations (including repeated awards) and recorded ace claims.
- Preserve filters and keyboard focus when returning to the roster.
- At base, preview a strained active man's rest leave or a 48-hour crew pass.
- Show exact before/after strain, affected personnel and recovery duration.
- Explain that resting the campaign pilot pauses his personal mission progress.
- Cancel previews without changes; apply uses existing rest/pass actions and
saves the result. No random rolls or mission advancement are added.
- Auto-fly pauses while the Crew Room is open and resumes normal scheduling
when it closes. Recovery timers count completed sorties, not calendar days.

COMPATIBILITY
Save format 1, storage keys and combat/campaign rules remain unchanged.
The rules source differs from v1.14.0 only in the displayed version constant.

VERSION 1.14.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

BOMB-RUN OUTLOOK
- Open the outlook directly from briefing or during outbound cruise.
- Compare attacking the assigned target, bombing through cloud, diverting to
a target of opportunity and bringing the bombs home when cloud is forecast.
- Show mean accuracy, chance of 40%+ accuracy, zero-accuracy chance, and a full
distribution from 1,296 approach/flak and bombing dice combinations.
- Show expected close flak bursts and chance of at least one across three rounds.
- Explain weather, bombardier, bombsight, release, formation and H2S modifiers.
- Include the direct accuracy penalty from the first two flak rounds; hold
current crew, systems and formation constant. Future damage and survival
are not modeled. Estimates concern bomb accuracy, not target damage.
- Pause auto-fly during review and return focus to the briefing or mission.
- Correct the cloud-choice text to show -1 when operational H2S is available.

COMPATIBILITY
Existing save format 1 and storage keys are unchanged. The actual bomb run and
outlook share pure accuracy/modifier/flak helpers. Seeded comparisons with
v1.13.0 produced identical state and random state at every step across 24 tours.
No preview consumes random rolls or changes mission orders.

VERSION 1.13.0
Release Date: September 26, 2026

GUNNERY PLANNER
- Open Review gunnery plan during the Assign your guns phase.
- Full defense maximizes distinct-target coverage, then adds spare usable guns.
- Conserve ammunition uses one gun per covered fighter and holds spare guns.
- For maximum coverage, choose the assignment with the strongest sum of
individual hit chances. Firing arcs, ammunition and crew condition apply.
- Preview current/proposed assignments, individual odds and uncovered threats.
- Exclude zero-chance shots; explain held guns and unreachable fighters.
- Apply assignments without firing, or cancel with all current orders intact.
- Auto-fly pauses for the preview and resumes normal scheduling on close.
- Existing auto-assignment, combat dice, save format and storage keys unchanged.

VALIDATION
Planner checked against exhaustive assignment search on 512 small firing-arc
graphs, plus real combat/save/UI fixtures. Existing campaign regression tests
remain included. Forecast percentages are current hit odds, not kill chances;
earlier shots can change later chances and ammunition use.

- Shows terrain, geographic escort coverage, contrails and projected fuel.
- Fuel estimates include current tank drains/fires and damaged transfer valves.

Estimates hold current damage constant; actual damage, fires and forced returns
